As we enter our tenth year of the Women’s Spirituality Group at Saint Kenneth’s, we are grateful for the opportunity for us as sisters of faith to support and encourage each other on our spiritual journey. Sr. Arlene Kosmatka, OP brings us her years of experience as a Spiritual Companion to challenge us, guide us and invite us to be honest and authentic as we each face our own spiritual quest. Each year we collectively choose a book to be a catalyst for discussion and to help us reframe our perceptions, knowledge base, and experiences to grow in our relationship to God.
This year we have chosen ILLUMINATING THE WAY, EMBRACING THE WISDOM OF MONKS AND MYSTICS by Christine Valters Paintner who shows a fresh approach to Lectio Divina and an understanding of the universal patterns of archetypes to describe the monks and mystics portrayed in her book. For our first meeting, please read the Appendix: How to Practice Lectio Divina, the Introduction which explains archetypes and Chapter 1, Francis of Assisi, The Fool.
The Women’s Spirituality Group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 10 a.m. in the Saint Aiden Room in the Parish Hall and all women are welcome. See the weekly bulletin for more details.
