As with all Christian Service Ministries, we evangelize by our deeds. The Mailbox Ministry Outreach volunteers send out over 300 cards per month. The response Saint Kenneth has received over the years from the recipients and/or their families is truly heartwarming.

The Mailbox Ministry Outreach was originally formed in 2016 to make sure parishioners, living in their home, rehab center, senior living facility, or elsewhere, who could no longer attend services and activities at Saint Kenneth did not feel forgotten.

We continue to send out cards to these parishioners when we receive their names and current addresses but have added to our recipient lists:

• The Seminarians who are studying at the Sacred Heart Major Seminary when school is in session.

• The Sisters of the Bernardine Order who are retired have moved from Farmington MI. to Reading, PA.

• People who are on the prayer list published in the Saint Kenneth Church bulletin that the ministry has been given their address. (When adding a name of an individual to the prayer list, please let the office know if you want their name added to the Mailbox Ministry Outreach list and give the address you wish the cards to be sent to.)

• All the residents of the Senior Living Facilities that Saint Kenneth Eucharist Ministers take Communion to the Catholic residents. (We were originally only sending to the Catholic residents. During the Covid shut down the facilities requested we send cards to all their residents, and we continue to do so today. The recipients are very appreciative. Family members continue to reach out to Saint Kenneth to thank them for including their loved one in this ministry.)

• We send out Sympathy cards to those Saint Kenneth Parishioner and/ or their families who have suffered a loss and the church office has or has been given names and the addresses to send cards to.

We need volunteers to send these monthly cards.  Cards, postage, and return address labels will be available from Saint Kenneth if you wish to utilize them.  We are also looking for individuals, classes, or groups that would like to make some of these cards to send out.
