All Saints Catholic School commemorated Veterans’ Day with a special breakfast, prayer service, and program for those who have served in the United States military.
More than 150 people attended the event, which highlighted the history of Veterans’ Day and gave students, teachers, and staff members an opportunity to thank relatives, family friends, and those in the community who have served our country.
Members of All Saints’ National Junior Honor Society presented historical background about the origins of Veterans’ Day and led the assembly in prayer.
A special highlight occurred when the school’s Early Childhood students presented veterans with flowers as a sign of gratitude.
In addition to honoring veterans, the event served as a lesson for students about the sacrifices that military personnel and their families make to preserve freedom.
The following area businesses donated breakfast items to help make this event possible: Leo's Coney Island of Canton, Luca Pastry, Canton Center Tim Horton's, Bob Evans on Michigan Avenue, Panera Bread on Ford Road, and Busch's of Plymouth/Northville.
