            Each September, we begin our annual process of stewardship education.  We call this process “Living the Gospel: Sharing God’s Gifts in Gratitude.”  Whenever the word “stewardship” is used, most people immediately think “fund-raising.”  Our goal in offering this annual educational process is NOT to raise money; our goal is to raise awareness of what our faith calls us to do.  We want our Saint Kenneth parishioners to see that the more we live the Gospel, the more we can do as a parish.  Our full vision depends on each of us sharing our gifts in gratitude.
                Living the Gospel: Sharing God’s Gifts in Gratitude occurs in September over the course of four weekends. 

1. We began the experience with our annual APPRECIATION PICNIC, held every year on the Sunday following Labor Day – the once-a-year opportunity our parish staff to acknowledge the generosity and support  of our parishioners for being faithful stewards and sharing your gifts in gratitude. 
2. Following the picnic we focus on three themes of Stewardship. SPIRITUALITY: Stewardship of Time.  How we use our time and how we might set quality time aside for God, ourselves, our family or friends, and others in need.
3. Next we focus on SERVICE: Stewardship of Talent.   We will explore the gifts God has given to each of us and how we might use those talents for the good of our parish, our community and our world.
4. Finally, we will look at SHARING: Stewardship of Treasure. We will look at what God has given us materially, and in gratitude to consider what part of our treasure we want to, in gratitude, return to God to support the work of our great parish.

            Living the Gospel: Sharing God’s Gifts in Gratitude is an exciting endeavor and a holy mission, based on Scriptures and the life of Jesus Christ.  Stewardship is based on the longing deep within our hearts to give generously of the very best that you have and are.  Giving comes naturally once we see our lives as a gift from God and that we are but stewards of those things that God has entrusted to us.  Living the Gospel: Sharing God’s Gifts in Gratitude is based on the core beliefs of our Catholic tradition, namely that:

• God has blessed each of us, abundantly.
• Out of gratitude, we want to return a portion of what we have received.
• In order to Live the Gospel, we as members of our Saint Kenneth Community need to dedicate a portion of our Spirituality, Service and Sharing back to God in gratitude.

As disciples of Jesus, we want to experience and live a life of generosity.
