Liturgy Ministries

Lectors

Lectors study, reflect upon, and proclaim God's Word at Sunday Masses and other liturgical celebrations throughout the year. Lectors are provided with study guides and are scheduled well in advance. Currently, all lectors are expected to at tend an annual meeting for the purposes of formation in ministry. Contact Lane Ritter at 734-420-2392 for more information.

Ministers of the Eucharist

Ministers of the Eucharist are certified lay ministers who can serve in two capacities: assist in distribution of the Eucharistic elements (the Body and Blood of Christ) during Eucharistic celebrations in Church, and/or take communion to the sick, elderly, and shut-ins of the community. (Certification is granted when a formation class is taken. The Pastor has the discretion to use ME's without certification).

Altar Servers

Servers are young people who assist the presider at Mass in various ways, and also help with set up and clean up before and after. Training is provided by the Pastor or someone assigned by the Pastor. Contact Paula Vance at pmvance@comcast.net for more information.

Ministers of Hospitality

Ministers of Hospitality, made up of ushers and greeters, greet and assist parishioners and guests as they enter the Church for worship, and throughout the services. Ushers also assist with the gift procession during the liturgy, and distribute bulletins at the conclusion of Mass. A meeting is generally held once a year for training, formation, and discussion of issues. Contact Chuck Hilger at 248-305-8485 for more information.

Arts and Environment

The members of this group assist the Pastor and Coordinator of Liturgical Ministries with the setup and decoration of the worship space for the various seasons and special celebrations of the liturgical year. Work varies from sewing and assembly of banners and other decorations to crafting of special furnishings. Contact Carole Mueller at 734-420-2053 for more information.

Wedding Coordinators

Wedding Coordinators (typically assigned in two or three-person teams) assist the bride, groom and their families through the rehearsal process, typically the night before the wedding. They work with the Pastor and the Coordinator of Liturgical Ministries to ensure that wedding celebrations occur with minimal confusion. The Coordinators also work the day of the wedding, assisting with last-minute details, and provide general hospitality to the families. Contact Debbie Muncy at 734-420-3644 for more information.
